Great Lakers Walk Off with 5-3 Win
|
The Gryfindor Braves got a superb performance from pitcher Kenny Koehler. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Pure Michigan. The Great Lakers won the game, 5-3. In spite of the loss, Koehler was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball. The winner was Pure Michigan reliever Lorenzo Tamargo, now 2-0. The loser was Biff Tannen. Pure Michigan is 24-36 and Gryfindor, with the loss, 34-26.
The Great Lakers were down to their final out when right fielder Eric Thackston turned a full count fastball from Biff Tannen into a 3-run home run. The walk-off home run made the Lansing Park crowd go wild.
In postgame comments, Thackston said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
