Rails Pin 5-3 Loss on Sonics
|
The Richland Rails overcame a good performance by Atlantic City shortstop Senior Pond to knock off Atlantic City, 5-3, at Sonics Ballpark. Pond was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs. Manuel Morales was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 2 save opportunities. The slumping Sonics have dropped 7 in a row.
Flexing his muscles for Richland was Lee Faught. The first baseman had a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth for the Rails. It put his team ahead, 4-1, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Faught went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Atlantic City skipper Yoshifumi Kamuta.
