Ghosts Fall to .500 After Loss to Mermen
|
The Myrtle Beach Mermen topped the Casper Ghosts by the score of 4-2, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Jorge Reyes. Reyes went 3 for 3 with a triple, a double, and a walk for the Mermen. The first-place Mermen have won 4 in a row.
Queens, New York-born Philip Strickland came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 3rd and the Mermen trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run to right-center to put Myrtle Beach on top.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Casper skipper Karim Moulin, "and it cost us."
