Red Knights Bump Off Dutchmen, 6-3
|
A 3-RBI performance from first baseman Sergio Ortíz, who is tied for 5th in the 3L in extra base hits with 31, led the Capital District Red Knights to a 6-3 win over the New Amsterdam Dutchmen. Capital District starter Raúl Luna was credited with the win after throwing 115 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 5-9. With the win, the Red Knights improved to 31-44.
Arnold Giroux contributed an important at-bat in the top of the fifth. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was one at-bat that helped send Capital District to the win.
"I know we have our doubters," said New Amsterdam manager Sal Gaudio. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
