Evergreens Prevail, 5-3, Over New Amsterdam
|
Fans who came to Dutch Master Park watched the Portland Evergreens and the New Amsterdam Dutchmen fight to the finish.
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Darrell Terwey, the Portland Evergreens defeated the New Amsterdam Dutchmen, 5-3. Terwey was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Evergreens. Fernando Ramírez nailed down his 10th save.
Gabriel Díaz was a key contributor to the win for the Evergreens. In the top of the third with two out, the light-hitting shortstop stroked a single to left. He went 1-4.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Terwey told the Portland News.
Portland has now won 3 straight, while the Dutchmen have lost 3 in a row.
