Great Day for Talamante in Piranhas Win
|
The Panama City Piranhas defeated the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 9-4, in Premier League action at The Tank. Marc Talamante received player of the game honors. The 9-year veteran went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Panama City reliever Francisco Barrios picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Bill Lee took the loss. Edgardo Nava earned the save for Panama City, his 1st of the year.
Flexing his muscles for Panama City was Tsing Guao. The center fielder had a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth for the Piranhas. It put his team ahead, 3-2, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Guao was 2 for 4 with a home run.
"It feels good to get that win," said Talamante. "Now it's on to the next one."
Panama City, now 28-20, holds third place in the Premier League.
