Sixshooters Beat Rapiers, 3-2

The Sixshooters faced a stiff challenge from Durham pitcher Darius Baxa, but persevered to claim a win at Rapiers Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. Baxa went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Westwood reliever Kevin Samuels was the winner. His record is now 3-3. The losing pitcher was Darius Baxa. Westwood currently is in 8th place in the Silver AA at 30-39.
Tied up with the Rapiers in the top of the fifth, the Sixshooters got a boost from center fielder Edgar González. With runners on 1st and 2nd, González saw a 1-2 curveball from Darius Baxa and hit a 2-run double to break the stalemate and put Westwood on top, 3-1.
González told the Westwood Daily: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
