Fur Traders Stymie Irving, Take 5-1 Win
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders did just enough to secure a 5-1 victory over the Irving Blue Sox at Blue Sox Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher César González, who captured player of the game honors. González picked up the win for Tacoma, going 8.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-3. This loss makes it 7 in a row for Irving.
Andy Moore dealt the Blue Sox a blow in the top of the second. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Tacoma leading 1-0, Moore, who is tied for 4th in the SAA in stolen bases with 18, hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager John Parkinson. "It's nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
