Polar Bears Fall Short, 2-1, at Minnesota
|
The Minnesota Loons got a stellar effort from pitcher Ramón Martínez, helped Minnesota score a 2-1 win over the visiting Billings Polar Bears. Minnesota bumps their record to 23-14 with the win.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 3rd in the bottom of the seventh. That's when Enrique Fuentes hit a run-scoring single. The Loons went on to win.
Said Minnesota manager Sandy Hampton: "I tell our guys all the time: 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction.'"
