Scranton right fielder Martín Álvarez had a terrific game. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Salt Lake City beat the Supernovas, 7-6. Álvarez was named the player of the game despite the loss. The win was credited to Lorenzo López in relief. His record improves to 9-1. Jim Unknown took the loss. The first-place Buzz now have a 4-game winning streak.
Jung-hwan Kwon was the walk-off hero for Salt Lake City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Salt Lake City third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Salt Lake City Buzz manager Enrique Zumaya. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
