Victory Over Supernovas Takes Santa Barbara to 45-23
|
In a tight contest at Nuclear Stadium, the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes edged the Scranton Supernovas by the score of 6-4. The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes' left fielder Sixto Álvarez, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Santa Barbara reliever Henri Pollini picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jim Unknown took the loss. António Rodríguez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 18th save.
Salvador Noriega had the most critical at-bat for Santa Barbara, coming in the top of the ninth inning with two out and runners on 1st and 3rd. Noriega hit a 1-1 curveball from Jim Unknown for a 2-run triple. It put Santa Barbara in front, 6-4.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Noriega.
The Golden Cranes, at 45-23, lead by one game in their division.
