Rivera Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Gold Sox Tuesday, August 11th, 2026 Every now and then, the right things happen at the right time. Fernando Rivera discovered that when he smashed three homers at Gold Sox Field during today's 8-6 win over the Chicago Gold Sox. The Portland third baseman said in the postgame interview, "I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them. The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it." Rivera finished the day with 3 hits in 5 at-bats and 5 RBIs. Fernando Rivera struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Raśl Areola in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Angus Barlow in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Chris Rogers in the 9th. Batting .234 to date, Rivera has 7 home runs and 14 RBIs. |
