Capital District Álvarez Gets the Cycle Tuesday, July 28th, 2026 At Capital Grounds today Pedro Álvarez grabbed a piece of baseball history, when he hit for the cycle and added his name to the record book. But the Evergreens took a little gloss off of his shine, when they grabbed a 7-6 victory over the Red Knights. For the day Álvarez went 4 for 5 with 3 runs batted in and 3 runs scored. "I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Álvarez said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me. The ball seemed that big to me. And it just floated in." Pedro Álvarez tripled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off Ronaldo Rey in the 8th and struck out in the 10th.
