Cattlemen Fall to Gaddi, Middies
|
Spirited fans at The Cattle Pen greeted the Ft. Worth Cattlemen for their clash with the Grafton Middies.
A 3-RBI performance from third baseman Stefano Gaddi led the Grafton Middies to a 9-3 win over the Ft. Worth Cattlemen. Wayne Hurst, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 11-5. António Marés earned the save for Grafton, his 2nd of the year.
Also making an impact was first baseman Mario Ramos, who drilled a 2-run single in the top of the second for Grafton. For the game, Ramos was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Winning breeds more winning, I guess," said Gaddi.
The Middies, now 49-43, have won 7 in a row.
