Plainsmen Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
The Nebraska Plainsmen racked up a win at Plain Old Stadium, bumping off the South Beach Blaze, 3-2. Ramón Luér, who started for Nebraska, pitched effectively for his team. Mike Lawrence, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. South Beach now has a 7-game losing streak.

When he came to bat in the bottom of the tenth, Ralph Cranford had a chance to end it. South Beach pitcher Tadeo Pico had other ideas. But with one out, Cranford hit a walk-off run-scoring double. The Plainsmen had the walk-off win.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Bill Russell, the Nebraska skipper. "This one tested us."
