The Alameda Airmen and South Beach Blaze brought some excitement to Alameda Field.

Victor Lustig pitched a gem to lead South Beach to a 4-1 victory over the Alameda Airmen. Lustig went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 2-3. José Sauls earned the save for South Beach, his 1st of the year.

A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the sixth inning when the Blaze sent teenager Ramiro Ramos to the plate against Airmen hurler Miguel Cabañas. With the bases empty and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a home run off a 1-1 forkball to score 1.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Lustig told the South Beach Herald.

South Beach has now won 3 straight, while the Airmen have lost 3 in a row.
