Loss Extends Mt. Vernon Losing Streak
|
The Mt. Vernon Bulls got a superb performance from pitcher Javier López. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Put-In-Bay. The BC won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, López was named the player of the game. He threw 9 innings of 8-hit ball. Garrett Harrington finished to wrap up his 14th save. The slumping Bulls have dropped 7 in a row.
Also producing for Put-In-Bay was left fielder Peter Heard, who stroked a 2-run single in the top of the third. For the game, Heard was 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Mt. Vernon skipper Ricardo García, "and it cost us."
