The Syracuse Storm picked up a win at Storm Park, knocking off the Mancelona Torch, 4-3. Starting pitcher Gonzalo Montés played a key role in the triumph. With the win, the Storm improved to 27-47.

Also contributing to the win was shortstop Vito Middendorf, who stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth for Syracuse. For the game, Middendorf was 2 for 4 with a double.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Montés.
