Reapers Win Thriller, 3-2
|
The Grim Reapers picked up a win at The Coffin, knocking off the Niagara Falls Expos, 3-2. Starting pitcher Darius Baxa was an essential part of his team's success. Cecil Beijeman got credit for the win, improving to 6-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The Expos, at 28-43, have lost 5 straight games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth. That's when Grim designated hitter Carlos Evangelho, facing Manuel Montés, had a run-scoring double. It gave the Reapers the 3-2 win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Evangelho said.
