Koch Shines in BC Win
|
The Put-In-Bay BC bested the Mt. Vernon Bulls, 8-5, at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Steve Koch was named player of the game. He went 2-2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. James Neutron got credit for the win, improving to 8-5. He allowed 4 runs on 10 hits in 6.2 innings. The BC now have a record of 32-19.
When the BC needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Koch who delivered. Facing Mt. Vernon pitcher Carlos Núñez the bottom of the fourth with runners on 1st and 2nd, Koch hit his 2nd home run of the year. It made the score 6-0.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Koch told the Put-In-Bay Daily News.
