Benefiting from the performance of Micheal Lovell, the Chicago Tula defeated the Mt. Vernon Bulls, 10-1. Lovell went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 4 runs for the Tula. Pang Qin earned the win for Chicago. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing no earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 3-3. The Tula, at 26-17, have now won 7 straight.
Juan Chávez didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 3-run home run to put Chicago on top, 3-0.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Chávez told the Chicago Observer.
