Getting a good performance from left fielder Marvin Fitton, the Mt. Vernon Bulls defeated the Syracuse Storm, 6-4. Fitton was 3-3 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Bulls. Mt. Vernon reliever Pepe Delgado picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. António Muńóz took the loss. Earning his 5th save of the year was Evan Roy.

Mt. Vernon took control in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, Freddy Torres hit a bases-clearing double to make it 6-3, Bulls.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Fitton told a Mt. Vernon Times reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."

This win makes it 2 in a row for Mt. Vernon.
