Phelps Powers Bulls to 10-0 Win
|
The Mt. Vernon Bulls beat the Kennesaw Jets, 10-0, at Jets Stadium. The Bulls got a fine performance from first baseman Abraham Phelps, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4 for 5 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Jorge Chávez was the winner. Over 8.2 innings, he allowed no runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Kennesaw, at 3-9, is off to a poor start in 2026.
Also contributing to the win was left fielder Marvin Fitton, who stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the first for Mt. Vernon. For the game, Fitton went 4-6 with a triple and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Kennesaw manager António Sáenz. "We got flat-out beat."
