Dragoons Fall Short, 6-5, at Phoenix
The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 and Louisiana Dragoons obliged those fans who came to Hotspur Kiddie Complex looking for a good time.

The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 beat the Louisiana Dragoons, 6-5, at Hotspur Kiddie Complex. The win was largely due to the efforts of center fielder Juan Negrete, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ricardo Sandoval got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Earning his 1st save for Phoenix was Richard Osborn.

Hieronymus Bosch's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh was significant, coming with runners on 1st and 2nd and the game tied, 5-5. The Phoenix left fielder hit a run-scoring single off Alfredo Velásquez to put the Hotspur U-21 up.

"We'll build on this win," said Negrete.

Phoenix, now 1-2, is off to a slow start.
