Guzzlers Reel Off Another Win
|
Galesburg Guzzlers starter Mike McKay turned in a sterling performance against the Delaware 1787 BC, leading his team to a slim 1-0 win. McKay, now 3-4, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Ernst Chia, credited with the save, is now 4 for 6 in save opportunities.
Tied up with the 1787 BC in the bottom of the seventh, the Guzzlers got a boost from pinch hitter José Alfaro. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Alfaro saw a 2-1 fastball from Osvaldo Garibe and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Galesburg on top, 1-0.
