The Idaho Falls Chukars got a superb performance from pitcher Shotaro Sugahara. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Hammond. The Herons won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Sugahara was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Alberto Mendoza earned the win for Hammond. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 4 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 5-3. The Chukars have now dropped 5 straight.

It could have been a different outcome for Hammond, had it not been for Éric Leroux, the 23-year old shortstop . Leroux contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Hammond up, 3-2.
