Rodríguez Hits 2 home runs in Loons Win
The Minnesota Loons defeated the Yakima Hops, 11-4, in USPL Double A action at Loony Bin, with Minnesota catcher Gilberto Rodríguez named player of the game. José Marroquín got credit for the save for Minnesota. It was his 2nd of the year. The Loons now have a record of 36-37 with the win over Yakima.

Rodríguez came through with some timely hitting for Minnesota. With the score 3-2 in the bottom of the third and one down, Rodríguez hit a 0-1 curveball for a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season -- and a big reason the Loons managed to win.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Rodríguez told the Minnesota Daily. "It's as simple as that."
