Hops Rally For Late Win Over Eclipse

With third baseman Jim Unknown leading the charge, the Yakima Hops defeated the Northville Eclipse, 7-4, at Old-Timers Park. Unknown went 1 for 1 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Reynaldo Maestas earned the save for Yakima, his 1st of the year. The 8th-place Hops are now 33-35, the Eclipse 29-39.
The most important at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, Jamel Rhoads threw a 1-0 slider to Unknown, which he hit to center for a 3-run home run. It put Yakima in front, 7-4.
"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Unknown told the Yakima Times.
