Starting pitcher Raúl Pérez pitched well enough to help the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles beat the Yakima Hops by the score of 4-3. Mercer Island reliever Riley Herrick picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. José Muñóz absorbed the loss. The Screaming Eagles now have a record of 27-17 with the win over Yakima.

Mercer Island won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. That's when first baseman Jorge Velázquez hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Screaming Eagles fans to their feet.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Velázquez. "I like it."
