Late Rally by Lionhearts Secures Win
|
There was no shortage of dramatics at Lionheart Field today.
The Lannister United Lionhearts picked up a win at Lionheart Field, knocking off the Little Caesars Hot N Readys, 3-2. On the mound for Lannister United was right-hander Currito Melena, who played a pivotal role in the win. Lannister United reliever Ryan Ingram was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Kermit Sebold took the loss.
Gonzalo Álvarez was the walk-off hero for Lannister United. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Lannister United right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Álvarez.
Lannister United now sits at 13-18, while Little Caesars falls to 16-15.
