Skelly Leads Hops to Win
The Yakima Hops did just enough to secure a 5-3 victory over the Asheville Highlanders at Asheville Park. Nobody did more than left fielder Bryant Skelly, who captured player of the game honors. The Yakima Hops, now 9-3, have been on fire in the early going.

Also doing his part was right fielder Pedro Tapia, who stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fifth for Yakima. For the game, Tapia went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Tapia told a Yakima Times reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
