Mercer Island second baseman Wade Killefer picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Asheville Highlanders, 10-5. Greg Davis earned the save for Mercer Island, his 1st of the year. The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, now 5-0, have been on a roll in the early going.

Also contributing to the win was third baseman León Estrada, who stroked a 2-run single in the top of the second for Mercer Island. For the game, Estrada went 3 for 5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.

"We did enough to win," said Killefer.
