Dogfish Head Come Up Short at Calgary
|
Milton second baseman Jack Sutherland was sensational. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Calgary beat the Dogfish Head, 7-6. Sutherland was named the player of the game despite the loss. Juan López earned the win for Calgary. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 3 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 4-3. The 9th-place Lynx improved to 21-28.
Also doing his part was first baseman Jesús Martínez, who stroked a 2-run single in the bottom of the fourth for Calgary. For the game, Martínez was 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Martínez told the Calgary Times.
