Rails Come Up Short at Springfield
Springfield beat Richland at Springfield Stadium, escaping with a 7-4 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder Guillermo Castro, who earned player of the game honors. He was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. Gerald Keller got the win, improving to 2-3. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 10 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 0. Springfield has now won 3 in a row.

Castro came through with some timely hitting for Springfield. With the score 1-0 in the bottom of the first and no one down, Castro hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring double. It was his 6th double of the season -- and a big reason the Shooters managed to win.

"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Castro. "But I have better dreams after a win."
