Mermen Clip Thunder Hawks in Tight Contest
Ft. Polk South got a terrific performance from catcher Jorge Flores, but it wasn't enough to beat the Myrtle Beach Mermen. Myrtle Beach won the Tennille Grounds contest, 5-4. Flores was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Myrtle Beach's record now stands at 33-27, placing them third in the Menard's AA.

A defensive miscue in the bottom of the ninth could have cost the Mermen. With Myrtle Beach trailing 4-3, Pancho Núñez reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. In the end, Myrtle Beach was still able to win the ballgame.

Núñez described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
