The Richland Rails did just enough to sneak past the Myrtle Beach Mermen, 8-2, at Rails Ballpark. Richland pitcher Gary Kellenberger earned player of the game honors. Richland now has a 3-game win streak.

Pablo Coloa, who is tied for 8th in the 3AA in runs scored with 26, aided the Richland cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs.

Myrtle Beach manager Junior Benítez said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
