Nationals Bump Off Grasshoppers, 7-1

The Ottawa Nationals beat the San Bernardino Grasshoppers, 7-1, at Field of the Grasshoppers. The Nationals got a fine performance from left fielder Ruben Yim, who captured player of the game honors. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Ottawa reliever Theodore Wood was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Harvey Richards took the loss. Ottawa bumps their record to 11-12 with the win.
Markus Thompson contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the sixth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a single. It was one at-bat that helped Ottawa get the win.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said San Bernardino manager António Macías.
