Flamingos Clip Red Knights in Tight Contest
|
The Strip was the site of a tense game between the Capital District Red Knights and Las Vegas Flamingos.
The Las Vegas Flamingos topped the Capital District Red Knights, 3-2, in Third League action at The Strip. The player of the game was Las Vegas pitcher and Seongnam, South Korea native Seung-yeop Kim. The Flamingos move to 57-46 with the win, while the Red Knights drop to 61-42.
In the bottom of the 8th, left fielder José Alonso gave Las Vegas the lead when he hit a 2-run home run. The Flamingos had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out home run off Capital District pitcher Luis Hernández changed that -- and Las Vegas went on to win.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Las Vegas manager JJ Hoban. "Our pregame was pretty good."
