Nuggets Squelch Las Vegas Offense in Shutout Win
Omar Casteneda never let the Las Vegas Flamingos find their groove. Throughout the game, Casteneda relied on his bread and butter, his cutter, in pitching the Nuggets to a win. Casteneda picked up the win for Rocky Mountain, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Carlos Trevino was called on to finish, recording his 8th save.

Randy Bowen was a key contributor to the win for the Nuggets. In the bottom of the fifth with one out, the light-hitting shortstop stroked a single to center. He was 1 for 3.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Bowen said.

With the victory, the Nuggets record now stands at 52-42.
