The Las Vegas Flamingos defeated the Chicago Gold Sox, 3-2, in Third League action at Gold Sox Field, with Las Vegas pitcher Melvin Haney named player of the game. Christian Pitts closed the door for Las Vegas, picking up his 2nd save of the year. This loss makes it 7 in a row for Chicago.
It could have been a different outcome for Las Vegas, had it not been for Sake van Arem, the three-time Gold Glove winner . van Arem contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Las Vegas up, 3-2.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said van Arem. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
