Legion Cut Down Pandas, 4-1
|
Cloverdale Legion Park was the site of a competitive game between the Montana Pandas and Kingston Township Legion.
The Kingston Township Legion went home winners at Cloverdale Legion Park, thanks in large part to starter Roger Shaw. Shaw silenced the Montana Pandas, enabling Kingston Township to grab the 4-1 win. In 7.1 innings, Shaw surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Toshiro Saikawa nailed down his 11th save.
Also contributing to the win was right fielder Ye Der, who stroked a 2-run single in the bottom of the third for Kingston Township. For the game, Der was 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Kingston Township Legion manager Rayzor Ray, "I like our chances."
With the win, Kingston Township goes to 34-46, while the Pandas fall to 48-32.
