Fighting Dachsunds Come Up Short at Florida
|
Florida starter Ray Neely pitched effectively against the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds at Psychos Ballpark. The left-hander led his team to a 6-2 win. Neely, now 3-14, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing 2 earned runs. Alberto Ríos was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 7 save opportunities.
Lorenzo Díaz was a key contributor to the win for the Men. In the bottom of the fifth with two out, the light-hitting third baseman stroked a single to center. He was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Ellenburg manager Armando Saldaña said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Ellenburg has now lost 5 straight.
