Timber Hawks Beat Drummers in 10
|
Tortolita pitcher Gustavo Pérez gave the Timber Hawks all they could handle, but in the end, Augusta left Drummers Ballpark with a 3-1 win. Pérez allowed 1 earned run on 1 hit over 8 innings. Augusta reliever Drew Cullen picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Ron Anderson was saddled with the loss. Augusta is 8th in the Silver AAA with a record of 44-47.
The most important at-bat for Augusta came in the top of the tenth inning, when first baseman Luis Tapia stroked a 0-1 fastball to right for a 2-run single, putting Augusta up, 3-1.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Tapia told the Augusta Gazette.
