Phoenix beat Tortolita at Drummers Ballpark, escaping with a 10-4 win. The win in large part was due to second baseman Jesús Álvarez, who earned player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The first-place Hotspur Reserves, at 61-29, now lead their division by 11 games.

With Phoenix leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Álvarez hit a curveball from Anastasio Enríquez for a 2-run double. It was his 13th double of the season and put the Hotspur Reserves ahead, 4-0.
