Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Vermont Lake Monsters got the win.

The Augusta Timber Hawks got a sterling performance from catcher Hugo Rampley, but the Lake Monsters still prevailed, 4-3. Rampley was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winner was Vermont reliever Jim Unknown, now 1-0. The loser was Rodrigo Rangel.

Ray John had the most critical at-bat for Vermont, coming in the top of the tenth inning with no one out and a runner on 1st. John hit a 2-2 fastball from Rodrigo Rangel for a run-scoring triple. It put Vermont in front, 4-3.
