|
Houston left-hander Mike Owens pitched his team to victory over the Jersey City Sun Caps at Houston Park. The final score was 4-3. Owens went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 6-4. Houston is now 37-33, Jersey City 37-33.
Also contributing to the win was third baseman Alfredo Mojica, who stroked a 2-run triple in the bottom of the fourth for Houston. For the game, Mojica went 1-3 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Mojica.
