Great Day for Sweeny -- 5 Hits
|
Tortolita catcher Blair Sweeny could do no wrong in today's 4-2 win over the Sun Caps as he collected 5 hits.
"In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Sun Caps said to the press corps after the game.
Sweeny agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
Blair Sweeny singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Carlos Medina in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.
In 18 games this season Sweeny has compiled a .371 batting average with 23 hits and 1 home run. He has also scored 12 times and knocked in 14 runs.
