The Irving Blue Sox got a stellar effort from pitcher Paco Hernández, helped Irving score a 4-2 win over the visiting Chesapeake Continentals. Jim Unknown was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. Irving has now won 4 straight.

Also making an impact was designated hitter Manny Gonzáles, who drilled a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second for Irving. For the game, Gonzáles was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
