"Getting ahead of the hitters is the key," said Rediker.
Zach Rediker helped Bethesda edge Lancaster by the score of 4-2. In 5.2 innings, Rediker surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Yajirobei Otomo closed the door for Bethesda, picking up his 9th save of the year.
The Atoms got a big at-bat from Carlos León. For the game, León went 1-4. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 1st hit of the season gave Bethesda a 2-1 lead.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Bethesda Atoms manager Steve Vance. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
Bethesda is in 8th place in the Silver AA with a record of 11-17.
