Belugas Go Down to Defeat, 7-6
|
The Alaskan Humpbacks knocked off the Brinkley Belugas, 7-6, at Sea World. Miguel Martínez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Alaskan won. The right fielder went 3-3 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. The winner was Alaskan reliever Fernando Peralta, now 2-0. The loser was Glen Holland. Alaskan, now 27-29, holds 6th place in the Menard's AAA.
In the bottom of the 7th, left fielder Rob Morse gave Alaskan the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Humpbacks had been trailing 6-5, but the two-out single off Brinkley pitcher Glen Holland changed that -- and Alaskan went on to win.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Martínez.
